The Center for Children and Young Adults is proud to be among the distinguished organizations in Georgia approved to receive funding through the Fostering Success Act (FSA). This unique opportunity allows you to redirect your state tax dollars to create a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in foster care.
HOW THE TAX CREDIT WORKS: Your Contribution = Your Tax Credit
EXAMPLE: Owe $10,000 in Georgia taxes? Contribute $5,000 to The Center for Children and Young Adults and reduce your tax bill to $5,000.
Who Can Participate and Maximum Contribution Amounts?
Important Update: If you make a contribution before July 1, 2025, the below limits apply. However, after July 1, 2025, these restrictions are lifted—there will be no maximum contribution limit.
Individuals or Heads of Household: Up to $2,500
Married Couples Filing Jointly: Up to $5,000
LLCs, S Corps, or Partnerships: Up to $5,000
Corporations: Up to 10% of Georgia tax liability
HOW TO APPLY:
Step 1: Pre-Approval Process
Visit the Georgia Tax Center (GTC)
If you don’t have an account, click “Sign Up” to create one.
Submit a Pre-Approval Request:
Log in and select “Manage My Credits” within your tax account.
Choose the fostering tax credit from the dropdown menu.
Complete Form IT-QFCD-TP1 and designate The Center for Children and Young Adults as your Qualified Foster Child Support Organization.
Wait for approval from the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Step 2: Make Your Contribution
Act promptly—you must donate within 60 days of receiving approval.
Donate to The Center for Children and Young Adults:
Online: Donate Here (select "Fostering Success Act" from the dropdown).
By Mail: Send a check with “FSA Tax Credit” in the memo to: The Center for Children and Young Adults 2221 Austell Rd. SW Marietta, GA 30008
Step 3: Claim Your Tax Credit
Receive a confirmation—Form IT-QFCD-TP2 will be sent to you for your records.
File your taxes and attach Form IT-QFCD-TP2 to claim your credit.
