The Admissions Process

The Center for Children & Young Adults is a state licensed Child Caring Institution (CCI) that provides room, board and watchful oversight (RBWO) care to children in the Georgia Foster Care System.

All referrals for emergency shelter, respite foster care, temporary housing, and transitional housing services must be approved and processed through our Office of Admissions and Compliance.

To apply for admissions, DFCS Caseworkers should contact Patricia Reece, Chief Operating Officer for Residential Services by sending a Universal Application (UA) to preece@ccyakids.org.

Virtual Interviews must be conducted prior to admission in all CCYA Transitional Living Programs (TLPs) (includes LIfe Works, Rise Up Academy, and The Lofts @ Rise Up.

For admission to the CCYA Connections ILP Apartment Program, there is a mandatory requirement that all applicants must first reside in a CCYA TLP program for at least six months and demonstrate responsibility, an ability to self-regulate and manage their behaviors, and follow all residential program rules.

Additionally, candidates must remain drug and alcohol free (submit to regular drug testing), maintain part time employment, and be enrolled in a higher education program, vocational tech or trade school, or work training program.

Additionally, the resident must demonstrate the ability to manage his/her own medication and continue participation in therapeutic counselling services.

Note: CCYA will not place outside young adults directly into the Connections ILP program.
