Each year before the new school year begins, CCYA hosts a luncheon and banquet to recognize youth achievements, progress and improvement, and participation in extracurricular activities. For many CCYA youth, the banquet is the first time they have been recognized for anything and the awards received may be the first certificate, medal, plaque, or trophy that they have ever received.
All too often youth in foster care find themselves on the fringes of extracurricular activities at school. This is the result of moving around from placement to placement, lack of resources to pay for fees and uniforms, histories of truancy and dropping out of school, and not having an adult caregiver to encourage them to join school clubs and sports teams.
The Best is Yet to Come Banquet features a buffet lunch, keynote speaker, youth performances, and awards ceremony.
In addition to youth recognitions, CCYA also recognizes staff, volunteers and community partnerships.
The cost of the banquet ranges from $3500 to $5000 each year which includes a budget for table centerpieces, trophies/medals/plaques, food buffet, and Audio visual and sound system rental.
CCYA relies heavily on the support of the community to fund the banquet. Therefore, to sponsor or donate to the Annual Youth Awards Banquet, please click the DONATE tab now and specify your donation as BYTC Banquet.
The July 25th Youth Banquest will be held at The Marietta Country Club in Kennesaw. Sponsors are invited to attend.
