The Rise Up Studios will open in October of 2024 and will be an extension pilot project of the current Rise Up Academy residential program. The Studios will be an 8-bed "practice apartment" pilot offering single efficiency apartments for young adults (ages 17-20) who are preparing for Independent Living Programs (ILPs). Each apartment will feature a full-sized bed, TV sitting area, kitchenette with sink, mid-sized refrigerator and microwave, multipurpose island with seating, full-sized bathroom and closet. A common area will feature a full-sized cooking kitchen, laundry facilities, and media and gaming area. Studio residents will have key card access to their assigned unit and will be permitted to host pre-approved guests during certain hours. Beginning in October of 2024, youth residents applying to CCYA's Connections ILP Apartment program must first demonstrate readiness by successfully residing in one of The Studio's practice apartments. Program services will include case planning and management; supportive housing services (basic needs, education & support, life skills, job readiness & placement, career planning, transportation assistance, and financial literacy); medical and mental health treatment (including regular drug testing); and more independent youth development activities. The Studios will offer opportunities for more increased independence and responsibility through the Rise Up Academy program.
